In 2014 Russian TV recorded an interview with two people who participated in the tragic 2 May 2014 clashes on the Antimaidan (pro-Russian) side. They clearly explained on camera that the tragic fire was started by their own activist who threw a bottle from inside the building in order to "prevent the enemy from entering". The interview was aired, but then promptly deleted from the official online resources as the whole Russian narrative was built on the legend of "inhumane Banderites burning pro-Russian activists alive". In reality, all video evidence confirms that it was the pro-Russian side that escalated the violence on 2 May and killed several Ukrainian activists hours before the tragic events in the House of Unions started.
