On 17 June 2025 Russia executed an unprecedented aerial attack on Kyiv combining hundreds of "Geran-2" assault drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, which hit numerous civilian buildings in the capital of Ukraine. The most severe hits were a ballistic missile which hit a residential multi-storey building, destroying a whole segment, and a drone hitting another such building. In both cases there can be no talking of "downed missile debris", a popular excuse by Russians, because as you can see on the video the drone continues a stable, horizontal flight until it hits and explodes in a private apartment. The ballistic missile hit with full force, reaching the foundations of a 10-storey building. As of the morning, 15 civilians were confirmed dead and and over 120 wounded with many more missing. During the attack on residential areas of the town Russia used cluster munitions whose sole purpose is to inflict maximum damage to infantry or - in this case - civilians.
