538. Beautiful and Adventures Fall Flight to Adams Lake, Oct 3, 2025

timea month agoview0 views

This marked my third attempt to explore Adams Lake in Interior BC—and finally, nature allowed it. I departed at 10 am, about two hours later than usual, to avoid the rising sun glaring directly into my face. The dry, brown terrain gradually gave way to vibrant autumn hues as I turned northeast. Though stunning, the area is deeply intimidating to fly through. Adams Lake lies in a steep, deep valley with no margin for error—no chance for an emergency landing. My original plan was to fly the full length of the lake, but I abandoned it halfway. Cloud cover over the northern section made the decision easier. At the 35 km mark, I turned west toward another BC gem: Johnson Lake. Following Agate Bay Road, I reached the North Thompson River, which guided me back to Kamloops. This flight ranks among the most challenging I’ve undertaken.
