Olav and the Lute is fun little game that is inspired by the Lucas Arts classic Loom. You have a lute instead of a staff and play little melodies to manipulate your surroundings instead of using verbs from an interface. There is a melody for "open" and when you play it backwards it becomes "close". Once you see you need to play the fire melody backwards to freeze the riverbed to be able to cross it it becomes apparent and fun. The graphics are in a pixel art style, but not that detailed and rather a bit sketchy but it gets the idea of what you see on screen across pretty well. The haunting music is really to my taste, but maybe not to everyone's taste, but I really enjoy that. The puzzles are really cool as already mentioned, the backwards playing of melodies is a fun concept. A bit more quality control would have helped the game a lot, somehow the game mixes up the walk cycles it seems and Olav quite often moonwalks across the screen, but you get to places and can have fun.
