During our night dive on 2025-03-26 in Gozo, Malta, we encountered this long, needle-like fish cruising silently over the seagrass – most likely a Belone belone (Garfish / Hornhecht). ✨
This species is common in the Mediterranean, but rarely seen so clearly at night! It can be identified by its:
- Long, slender body
- Distinct beak-like snout
- Silvery-green shimmer under torchlight
