20,000 cyclists take over the streets of Montreal. Almost every year since 1985, Montreal has held the Tour de l'Île — an enormous group bike ride around the island on low-stress, car-free streets, with police and barriers temporarily keeping traffic at bay. Typically another 20,000 cyclists join a separate night ride a few days earlier.
